Agriforwards CDT

‘Agriforwards’ is the world's first EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Agri-Food Robotics.

Agriforwards CDT has been established by the University of Lincoln in collaboration with the University of Cambridge and University of East Anglia.

Agriforwards CDT provides a unique blend of technical expertise, outstanding research environment and, most important, integral industry collaboration in Agri-food Robotics. We work in collaboration with many organisations including the Dyson Foundation who are kindly providing PhD studentships for our students. Agriforwards CDT is currently closed its application portal as we do not plan more recruitment rounds this year.

For general information about Agriforwards CDT please go to Agriforwards CDT - Lincoln.

It’s all in the wrist: energy-efficient robot hand learns how not to drop the ball

17 April 2023

Researchers have designed a low-cost, energy-efficient robotic hand that can grasp a range of objects – and not drop them – using just the movement of its wrist and the feeling in its ‘skin’. Grasping objects of different sizes, shapes and textures is a problem that is easy for a human, but challenging for a robot...
